Drop Pod Earrings
♢ Solid sterling silver
♢ This pair of earrings is from my "silver seed" collection. This is one of my few cast collections. I first made a master of my design, constructing it argentium silver and cleaning it up to perfection. A rubber mold is made and now I can have it cast in sterling silver, and create a perfect matching pair. The collection is a "limited edition" because I am hand finishing each piece by hand.
♢ I love gardening -- it is my biggest source of inspiration. I am drawn into all the little details and symbolism literally blooming all around me. As a metalsmith and jewellery design I am fascinated with capturing the moment and transforming it into sterling silver.
♢ These earrings are inspired by a seed pod bursting open. Seeds and seed pods are a prominent element in my designs. The seed represents hope, perseverance, and potential. It is a symbol of encouragement and I find myself designing over and over again with seed imagery.
♢ These earrings have a total length of 5 cm and the drop measures 3.2 cm x 1.3 cm
