This unique carnation flower ring is handmade out of solid sterling silver. Wear it on its own as a pretty solitaire or stacked with other rings.

The carnation flower was created using sterling precious metal clay. It’s a really neat material that consists of tiny particles of sterling silver that are mixed with an organic binder. It acts just like clay - I can mold (like I’ve done here,) shape it and connect it with slip - just like real clay. After it dries I put it in my kiln for a two part firing cycle (at roughly 1500 degrees F!) and all the organic binder burns off leaving behind just the solid sterling silver. The resulting flower has a nice solid weight- with soft comfortable edges.

I created the band separately out of sterling wire and gave it a nice hammer texture. I love how the hammer texture catches the light! I soldered the two pieces together, using a post in the centre (half drilled through the rose.) The last step for me was to polish and apply a dark patina to the succulent petals - just to bring out all the lovey details and make the rose really pop!

The flower is 1cm in diameter and .4 cm high. It is a size 6.25 - Feel free to reach out to me to have one made in your own size!
