Handmade using solid sterling silver this pretty succulent rose ring is perfect to wear on its own or stacking with another band (or two.)
The succulent rose was created using sterling precious metal clay. It’s a really neat material that consists of tiny particles of sterling silver that are mixed with an organic binder. It acts just like clay - I can mold (like I’ve done here,) shape it and connect it with slip - just like real clay. After it dries I put it in my kiln (at roughly 1500 degrees F!) and all the organic binder burns off leaving behind just the solid sterling silver. The resulting rose has a nice solid weight- with soft comfortable edges.
I created the band separately out of sterling wire and gave it a nice hammer texture. I love how the hammer texture catches the light! I soldered the two pieces together, using a post in the centre (half drilled through the rose.) The last step for me was to polish and apply a dark patina to the succulent petals - just to bring out all the lovey details and make the rose really pop!
The succulent rose is 1cm in diameter and .4 cm high. It is a perfect size 7.

Each piece of my jewellery is carefully hand packed by me personally before I ship it out. I use thin cardboard jewellery boxes for most of my work and make them pretty enough for gift giving. I always include artist information.
